June 2024 Tea Towel - June's Transformation

Our June tea towel is June's Transformation featuring custom colorful butterfly and flower woodblock designs on a light linen tea towel. 

This woodblock always puzzled me.

The butterfly shape was obvious. I couldn’t discern the other parts of the block until I truly focused on the butterfly and realized that the other shapes are symbols of the stages of a butterfly's development.

One of my favorite children's books was "Hubert the Caterpillar Who Thought He Was a Moustache." I have searched for a copy of the book for years to no avail. My favorite recollection of the book is when Hubert turned into a butterfly and he looked at his wings and thought he was an eagle! Delusional or hopeful? For me, it is about stages and phases and how to think about where you are and where you are going next.

June is the month that celebrates Spring as it turns into Summer.
