Ukraine Relief
The war in Ukraine shows no signs of letting up, and neither does support from the Three Pines Studio community for the people of Ukraine. Although there have been successes from a military standpoint, the people of Ukraine continue to suffer on a day-to-day basis, especially in those areas that have been devastated. The suffering has shifted from those seeking shelter as refugees to those attempting to restore a basic existence in re-claimed villages and settlements.
World Central Kitchen is a non-profit founded by Chef Jose Andres designed to assist areas around the world suffering from natural and man-made disasters. Last year, Chef Andres and his teams provided food and water assistance at several sites within Ukraine and at its borders to displaced persons. This year the food insecurity is strongly felt in the newly liberated areas and towns.
This year—World Central Kitchen is providing food kits to those directly involved in re-building their lives in these devastated areas.
2022 Overview
Last year Three Pines Studio sent $57,500 to World Central Kitchen from the sales of our handmade Peace for Ukraine tea towels. In addition, the fundraiser showing of Ron Howard’s documentary, We Feed People, at The Lyric Theatre in Harbor Springs generated $20,000. The money raised during the 2022 campaign provided World Central Kitchen the means to feed hungry Ukrainian refugees.
Your continued support is needed. As the situation has evolved, the war in Ukraine has turned into a war for food.
The Facts
The purchase of 1 towel generates enough money for 4 food kits. Each kit feeds 4 people for 2-3 days.
